TV: McCall praises his side
‘Well boss Stuart McCall heaped praise on his side after their 6-0 demolishing of Morton in the Scottish Cup 5th Round.
The Steelmen roared into an incredible 5-0 interval lead courtesy of goals from Tom Hateley, Jamie Murphy, Shaun Hutchinson, Henrik Ojamaa and Nicky Law.
Jamie Murphy added a sixth after the interval to complete the rout and McCall praised the professionalism of his troops.
“It was a professional job, we asked at the beginning of the game for a high tempo as we couldn’t afford to go out and take liberties or we would be in for a rude awakening,” said McCall.
“We started well and got the goal directly from a corner which was quite unusual.
“I asked the lads not to take their foot off the gas and psychologically that sometimes happens. Credit to Morton, they stuck to the task.”
