TV: McCall looks ahead to Hibs

‘Well boss Stuart McCall is wary of a wounded Hibs ahead of tomorrow’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Fir Park.

Pat Fenlon’s side crashed to a heavy home defeat at the hands of an in-form Celtic side last Sunday.

But McCall is sure the visitors will be keen to bounce back at a ground that has been favourable this campaign.

He said: “Hibs knocked us out the cup in disappointing circumstances and then they came here and were deservedly one-nil up before the match got abandoned.

“Before their disappointing result on Sunday, against a very strong Celtic side, they had put a couple of back to back clean sheets together.

“They’ve bought in a lot of players which can sometimes give a club a lift although sometimes they can take a wee while to gel. They’ll be coming here fighting for their lives, there’s no doubt about that.

“(Gary) O’Connor has scored three goals here already in the two games. He started off really well and although he’s not been as prolific recently, he’s always a threat. He’s got good ability, as has (Leigh) Griffiths, and they’ve bought in (Eion) Doyle and (Roy) O’Donovan who both have decent goal scoring records so we’re well aware of their danger.

“But we will focus on ourselves as always. It’s a big, big game for us and a win would help us cement our third place by a further three points.”
