Versatile left-sided player Jordan Halsman was one of an unprecedented call-up of no fewer than five players from the 2009’10, Motherwell U19 squad.
By that stage Jordan had already made his first-team debut for the Steelmen coming on as a second half substitute in a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Celtic in October 2009.
In the summer of 2010 Halsman, whose brother Bradley, was also involved with the ‘Well youth sides, was allowed to join Annan Athletic on a six month loan deal.
The youngster impressed enormously in his time at Galabank offering a goal threat as well as creativity on the left-hand side of the park and netted four times in spell with the Third Division side.
Given the option of continuing his development with Annan, Jordan declined hoping to catch the eye of newly installed ‘Well boss Stuart McCall.
His return to Fir Park was only brief however as he soon moved out on loan once more this time to Second Division Dumbarton. Following in the footsteps of team-mate Ross Forbes, who also enjoyed a spell with the Sons, Halsman saw his initial one month deal extended until the end of the season.
Back in Lanarkshire once more Halsman will seek to establish himself in the Motherwell first team squad over the course of the 2011’12 campaign.
