Press & Media
Anyone wishing to visit a match at Fir Park as a journalist or photographer must have valid accreditation, applied for on a match-by-match basis.
Newsdesks must send an email from or on behalf of the Editor (or equivalent senior position) to email@example.com no later than 48 hours before the fixture itself, detailing relevant representatives and what specific titles they will be covering e.g. Daily/Sunday etc.
The club may request the following proof, particularly from freelancers or newly established media organisations/outlets:
15 football match reports published in national or regional newspapers (or equivalent) within the last 12 months (with the corresponding payment invoices if an agency/freelancer)
15 football match action photographs published in national or regional newspapers (or equivalent) within the last 12 months (with the corresponding payment invoices if an agency/freelancer)
If your application for accreditation is approved you will typically receive a confirmation email.
To pick up your pass, present this confirmation together with proof of your identity at the press entrance to the ground.
The club has a limited number of press and media parking spaces available on a first come first served basis in the Knowetop Carpark. Notification of parking arangements will be detailed in the confirmation email.
The club reserves the right to refuse requests for accreditation which arrive after the deadline or don’t fulfill the relevant criteria (detailed above). If your accreditation application is refused, you can still visit the ground as a spectator.
Broadcast media rights holders
At the end of the match, the management and players of Motherwell and the opposing team are available for interviews with representatives of broadcast media rights holders on request.
No access can be granted to the trackside and tunnel area for representatives of broadcast media that are non-rights holders or to representatives of the press.
Following the broadcast media interviews, a post-match press conference will be held with the management and players of Motherwell and the opposing team available for interviews. All media can attend these briefings if space permits.
The club will also hold pre-match press conferences on an individual basis on a Friday afternoon for matches being played on either a Saturday or Sunday. For midweek matches, the press conference will typically be held the day before the game although can be subject to change.
Fir Park has over 68 press seats, a roof mounted gantry for television coverage and a press-room for post match interviews. ISDN lines are only available to press and media who have installed their own lines at the ground, although visiting clubs are allocated a power socket and ISDN line in accordance with SPFL Premiership regulations.
The club send out regular press releases and notification of press conferences and / or press calls to accredited press. To be added to our press circulation list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
