    Youths snatch late win

Keiran McGachie’s late, late winner gave Motherwell all three points in a thrilling 3-2 win over Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Motherwell raced into a two-nil first-half lead courtesy of goals from Josh Watt and Keiran MacDonald.

A hotly disputed penalty allowed Kilmarnock back into the match, Matthew Kennedy slotting past Ross Stewart. The visitors grabbed an equaliser through Rory McKenzie and had a number of chances to win the game.

However, the Steelmen weathered the storm and grabbed the winner in the last minute, Keiran McGachie slotting home his seventh of the campaign after Ross Brownlie’s effort had bounced back off the keeper.

TV: McCall lauds his ‘Well squad

‘Well boss Stuart McCall paid tribute to his team after picking up his second Clydesdale Bank Manager of the Month award of the season.

The former Scotland International collected his gong this afternoon after Motherwell won away three times during October, at Tannadice, Easter Road and the Caledonian Stadium.

But the typically modest McCall was quick to hail his squad, including Player of the Month Keith Lasley.

“I was fortunate to get it a couple of months ago and when you win the manager of the month award, it’s basically because you`ve had the team of the month,” he said.

“When I look at the two performances at Tannadice and Easter Road, the lads were outstanding. Decent game against Kilmarnock and then we went up to Inverness and although we weren`t at our best, and full credit to Inverness because they played really well, we managed to score three terrific goals.

“We`ve had a good month and all the plaudits go to the players.”

McCall wins Manager of the Month

Motherwell Manager Stuart McCall has been named the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for October.

Stuart McCall guided his side to tough away wins against Dundee United, Hibernian and Inverness C.T. as well as a home draw against Kilmarnock throughout the month.
