Dundee saw their last match before the tie postponed on Saturday, with a waterlogged pitch seeing their home game with Ayr United called off.

Before that, a 2-0 home loss to Inverness CT followed a 1-1 derby draw at Dundee United.

    Head to head

Motherwell have won their last seven matches against Dundee, and are unbeaten in nine against their Scottish Cup opponents.

The last encounter came on league business in April 2019, with David Turnbull netting a late winner in a 4-3 victory at Fir Park.

Turnbull was also the scorer on the Steelmen’s last visit to Dens Park in January 2019, scoring a second half penalty in a 1-0 win.

    Mikael Ndjoli signs on loan

    Mikael Ndjoli signs on loan

Mikael Ndjoli has joined Motherwell FC until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The forward has joined on loan from English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth, returning north of the border for the second time in his career.

The pacy 21-year-old previously spent time with Kilmarnock last campaign, scoring five goals across 781 minutes for the club.

“Mikael is quick, strong and gives us an option all across the forward line,” manager Stephen Robinson said. “He will immediately add competition for places.

“He’s already had experience of the Scottish league, which will be of benefit to us. Also, despite his age, he’s already been out on loan twice and got playing time.

“He’s already shown us the enthusiasm he has for this move since arriving on Monday.”

Ndjoli came through the youth ranks at Brentford and Millwall, before signing professional terms in July 2016.

He spent the first half of the season on loan at League One side Gillingham, before returning in January.

His move to Motherwell is pending international clearance. He will wear number 44.

“I’m really keen to get started at Motherwell,” he said on arriving at Fir Park.

“I’ve already seen how this club operates from my previous time in Scotland and I was immediately impressed again when I arrived on Monday. I can’t wait to get involved.”

    Trevor Carson signs new deal

    Trevor Carson signs new deal

Trevor Carson has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.

We’re delighted to announce the Northern Ireland international has extended his stay with the club until the summer of 2022.

Carson joined ‘Well in the summer of 2017 and scooped the club’s Player of the Year award in his debut season, a campaign in which Stephen Robinson’s side reached both major cup finals.

It was also near the end of that season he made his full debut for his country, starting against South Korea at Windsor Park. He’s since gone on to earn another three full caps.

”I am delighted to be staying with the club,” Carson said at the club’s January training camp in Tenerife.

”It was a no-brainer to stay with a team that is continuing to constantly improve.

”I will keep working hard for the squad as we try and push in in the second half of the season and beyond.”

‘Well boss Stephen Robinson added: “It’s a massive plus for us to retain a goalkeeper of Trevor’s quality on a long-term contract.

“Trevor has shown me in training he is back to his best again after his unfortunate illness.

“We are delighted he has shown his commitment to the club for the next two-and-a-half years, even though he had no shortage of offers from other clubs at our level.

“I’m convinced Trevor will go from strength to strength and continue to push for more international recognition. It’s also shows our intent as a club to continually build the squad and keep moving forward.”
