Tale of the tape
St Mirren are unbeaten in their last three matches against the Steelmen, picking up two wins and a draw.
The last was a 2-1 victory at Fir Park in February, which came a week after their penalty shootout win in the Scottish Cup.
Motherwell roared back from 4-1 down to take the game to extra time, before losing on spot kicks.
Conversely, Motherwell are unbeaten in their last four in Paisley, drawing one and winning three.
Form guide
Stephen Robinson’s men were on a run of four wins from five before being disrupted by back-to-back defeats away to Hapoel Beer-Sheva and at home to Rangers.
St Mirren came from two down to draw 2-2 in their Betfred Cup group stage match at Queen of the South on Saturday, before gaining a bonus point in the shootout.
Before that, a 4-1 home win in the cup over Partick Thistle came off the back of six consecutive league defeats, with their last positive Premiership result coming in the form of a 1-1 home draw with Ross County on 22 August.
