You have to go back to January 2007 for the last time the derby was played.
Richie Foran scored the only goal in the Scottish Cup tie, sending Motherwell through.
Six years prior, a 2-1 win for Airdrie in the CIS Insurance Cup saw ‘Well lose away from home.
Historically, 145 matches have been played between the two teams, with Motherwell winning 63 and Airdrie 56.
Form guide
Motherwell made it two wins from two in the Premier Sports Cup group stage with a comeback 3-2 win over Queen of the South on Saturday.
The return of fans for the first time since March 2021 saw the visitors go into the break with a two-goal lead. Second half strikes from Tony Watt, Ricki Lamie and Kaiyne Woolery ensured victory.
Airdrie have three points from two games so far, having drawn both with Annan Athletic and Queen’s Park. A penalty shootout win over Queens brought a bonus point.
