Luca Ross has joined Alloa Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.
Ross has featured four times this season under Alfred Johansson and started against Stenhousemuir in the Premier Sports Cup.
Having played 22 games for Motherwell since December 2022, he joins up with the League One side to gain regular minutes. Alloa have won two and drawn three of their opening six league matches this season.

The word ‘legend’ is more than suitable for MFC Hall of Famer Keith Lasley.
Lasley is one of the highest appearance holders in Fir Park history, playing almost five hundred games in Claret and Amber and was rewarded for his impeccable service with a testimonial match against Bolton Wanderers in 2015.
By that point, the legendary midfielder skippered the club to consecutive runners-up league finishes and wore the armband in Champions League qualifying matches in a playing career spanning 18 years.
He joined the Steelmen in the late 1990s, having just finished an electrical apprenticeship at the time, and two goals in a trial match convinced then boss Billy Davies to offer him a professional contract.
He made his debut against Rangers at Ibrox in December of 2000 and went on to spend more than two decades at Fir Park as a player, captain, coach and, most recently, assistant manager.
Along with 2020 Hall of Fame inductee Joe Wark, Keith is the only man to have won the club’s Player of the Year on three occasions – in 2011, 2012 and 2014 – and is second only to Steven Hammell in European appearances for Motherwell FC.
Keith hung up his boots in 2017 to become Stephen Robinson’s assistant, where he played his part in the team reaching both the League Cup and Scottish Cup Final in the same season, as well as a third-place finish and a return to Europe in 2019-20 and 2021/22.
He left the club in 2022 to take up a new role at St Mirren, but will always be recognised as a MFC legend.
Alex Lowry is your LIME player of the month for August.
Having joined from Wycombe on loan, Lowry made his debut against Hibernian at the start of the month and started six of the seven games that followed.
Lowry has racked up almost 700 minutes of action already this season in the claret and amber but made an impact from the off. He got two assists against HJK Helsinki in the UEFA Conference League and got his third assist of the month against St Mirren after threading Tawanda Maswanhise through on goal.

Academy graduate Lucas Weir has joined Cowdenbeath under our co-operation agreement with the Lowland League side.
He will remain at Central Park for the season but is free to return to Motherwell if required without terminating the loan agreement.
“Lucas [Weir] is an exciting young player,” Academy Director David Clarkson said.
“He is developing well, and we see this as a great chance to gain experience and challenge himself in men’s football. This is the next step on his journey, and having made his debut already for our first-team, it’s important for Lucas to be in that first-team environment on a weekly basis.
“The demands of week-to-week first-team football in the Lowland League will be good for him, and hopefully he pushes himself.
“Our previous loan moves with Cowdenbeath has worked out brilliantly. Players have gained great exposure. Players like Olly Whyte, Nathan Lawson, Scott Williamson and Adam McDonald have all benefitted from their time at Cowdenbeath. There is a healthy relationship between the staff at both clubs, and we look forward to continuing that.
“We’ll remain in constant contact with the staff at Cowdenbeath throughout the season.”
Motherwell will play their final home match of the month against Aberdeen on Tuesday 15 September.

Richard Tait will be putting the football boots back on as he takes his place in our Tennent’s Sixes side.
The full-back arrived from Grimsby Town in 2016 and was immediately appreciated by the MFC supports for his consistent hard work on the pitch.
He was part of the team that reached two cup finals in the 2017/18 season and played 142 games across four seasons, even though COVID-19 ended his fourth season early and he became a leader in the side.
Tait moved on in 2020 to play for St Mirren but went with the best wishes of all the Fir Park faithful.
Fondly remembered as ‘Step Over’, Jim Paterson joined his local club in 2004 from Dundee United and became a dependable and versatile player for the Steelmen.
He played just shy of 120 games for the club during his three-and-a-half-year stay and is currently coaching the next generation at Fir Park, having been named Head of Academy Coaching last year.
Local boy Mark Reynolds impressed in the youth ranks and was given his first-team opportunity in the 2005/06 season. From there, he never looked back.
Making his debut against Livingston in 2006, Reynolds went on to play 201 times for the Steelmen. The 2007/08 season saw Reynolds feature in every match, playing 36 and 37 of the 38 league matches in the two seasons that followed.
Securing a seven-figure fee for the club when he moved south to Sheffield Wednesday, Reynolds was a dependable and resilient defender. Part of the team that finished third and secured European football, Reynolds burst onto the scene and quickly became an integral part of the team.
Simon Ramsden had to earn his chance to play for Motherwell and did just that by impressing on trial before signing a one-year deal in 2012. Thrown into the deep end from the off, he played in the Champions League against Panathinaikos.
He played 29 league matches in that maiden season before committing his future for a further two years at Fir Park. He played 81 games in total, scoring his only goal against Dundee United in 2014.
His strong affiliation with the Steelmen has continued until present day, with Ramsden regularly visiting Fir Park for matches and is a familiar face in the stands supporting the club.

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos has left the club by mutual consent to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
The Australian forward arrived in Scotland two years ago and went on to play 45 times for the club. He scored 12 goals during his stay.
During his time at the Steelmen, he returned to Australia on loan with FC Sydney.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the fans,” the striker said.
“Everyone associated with the club welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. The fans, staff and players have all been amazing during my stay in Scotland. This is football, and it’s the right time for me to move on.
“I wish everyone the very best for the season ahead. Thank you.”

Graeme Smith enjoyed a four-year spell at Motherwell, with Terry Butcher bringing the goalkeeper to Fir Park from Rangers in 2005.
Playing 144 games during that time, Smith earned international recognition as he got his first Scotland call-up, represented Motherwell in their first European game in 13 years and played in a domestic cup final. He moved to Brighton in 2009, bringing the curtain down on a memorable stay in North Lanarkshire.
It was Motherwell’s 11th game in 37 days, as the curtain was brought down on a hectic schedule since the start of the season for Alfred Johansson’s side, and they were back on the road, facing Rangers at Ibrox.
The Steelmen were looking for their fourth win at Ibrox in four seasons, but when Rangers took an early lead, Derek McInnes’ side didn’t look back.
Ryan Naderi scored the only goal of the game, but despite conceding a lot of chances, Motherwell remained in the fight right until the end but couldn’t quite find the leveller.
It’s time to rest and recover before facing Aberdeen next Tuesday night at Fir Park.
