The rise of Ewan Wilson was something that gathered national media attention. An MFC Academy graduate, he signed his first professional contract in 2022. 

A couple of appearances on the first-team were followed by his first loan move to Albion Rovers in 2022, where he played over 20 games.

Wilson made his Motherwell FC debut against Elgin City in July 2023 in the Premier Sports Cup, before joining Stirling Albion on loan later that summer. He was recalled from his spell at Stirling before dropping down to the sixth tier of Scottish football with Bieth Juniors, where Wilson impressed and subsequently signed a contract extension in the summer of 2024.

His spell at Beith rejuvenated the full-back, and the 2024/25 season was Wilson’s big breakthrough year. After months of hard work and building up a close relationship with a nutritionist, he burst into the first team, making 39 appearances and also scoring his first professional goal, and subsequently signed a deal until 2027.

Wilson joined Raith Rovers on loan for the 25/26 season where he made 24 appearances.
