The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Academy Coach to join our ambitious and hard-working team. This candidate will:
- Provide quality, age-appropriate coaching to players in accordance with the Academy philosophy and coaching curriculum.
- Deliver, monitor, and periodically review each player’s individual learning plan.
- Be familiar with all Academy policies and processes, working as part of an interdisciplinary approach to player development as per the Academy Performance Plan.
Motherwell Football Club is renowned for producing young talent that have gone to have successful careers, playing at the highest level. The likes of Lennon Miller, David Turnbull, Allan Campbell, James McFadden, Lee McCulloch, Chris Cadden and Jamie Murphy have all came through our academy setup and we want to produce and help the next crop of talent become the very best version of themselves on the field, and off it.
The applicant must have a flexible working approach, with the ability to cater for each players’ needs. They must be able to work evenings, weekends and match days as required.
Applicants preferably should have experience in working with a youth academy. Applicants must be qualified to Elite Youth A Licence.

Job Title: Matchday Co-ordinator
Employer: Motherwell Football Club
Location: K-Park Training Academy, East Kilbride (home matchdays), with occasional away travel
Contract: Casual, matchday basis
Salary: Matchday set rate
Reports to: Football Department
Motherwell FC’s ‘Women of Steel’ are looking for a Matchday Co-ordinator to lead the on-the-day running of our home fixtures. This is a paid, matchday-only role, ideal for someone who thrives on organisation and wants a hands-on role in Scottish women’s football, taking ownership of matchday operations from setup through to close and acting as the main point of contact for players, officials, media, volunteers and supporters throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive circa 2 hours before kick-off and check in with the club staff and K-Park staff
- Install entrance signage, sponsor boards, club banners and SWPL-required promotional signage, and remove after the match
- Collect the cash box and card machine, test the machine and check the float
- Organise and allocate duties to matchday volunteers, including ticket booth, car park and welcome duty
- Meet and direct opposition staff and players, and welcome visiting SFA, SWPL or scouting representatives
- Produce, print and distribute team sheets, and provide these to the turnstile operator and any media in attendance
- Act as the main point of contact for media, officials and visiting parties throughout the fixture
- Deliver team and in-game announcements (goals, substitutions) as required
- Oversee ticket sales and be on hand at the ticket gate/entrance to resolve any issues
- Proactively engage with fans, invite feedback and respond appropriately to any matchday issues
- Conduct the half-time fundraising draw
- Provide first-line support in the event of a medical emergency, including contacting emergency services and supporting player welfare
- Remove and store all signage, chains and barriers after the match
- Check and document gate and ticket money, and compile attendance figures for submission to the Club and SWPL
- Complete and submit all relevant post-match paperwork to the league on time
Essential Criteria
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to co-ordinate multiple moving parts under time pressure
- Confident, personable manner, comfortable acting as the face of the Club for players, officials and supporters
- Calm under pressure, with good judgement in resolving on-the-day issues
- Availability to work Motherwell FC Women’s home fixtures, including weekends as required
- Basic financial competence for handling and reconciling cash and card takings
Desirable Criteria
- Previous matchday, events or stewarding experience, ideally within football or another sport
- Knowledge of SWPL matchday and league administration requirements
- A full driving licence
- First aid awareness
