Wigan Athletic forward Devante Cole is Motherwell’s seventh addition of the summer.
The 24-year-old has penned an an initial six-month loan from the Latics and joined up with his new teammates for training on Tuesday morning.
A product of Manchester City’s academy and son of former Manchester United and England striker Andrew Cole, Devante has hit an impressive 40 goals in 103 career starts for the likes of Barnsley, MK Dons, Burton and most potently with Fleetwood Town.
“I’m looking forward to getting started at Motherwell,” said Cole, who will wear the number 44 shirt.
“The manager has told me that he’s looking for pace, creativity and goals in the forward areas, and I’m hoping to bring that to the team.”
Cole can play as the main striker or either side of a front three, and ‘Well boss Stephen Robinson is looking forward to working with his latest recruit.
“Devante is one we’ve been tracking for quite some time, so we’re really pleased to have got it over the line,” he said.
“He’s quick and his stats prove he is a natural finisher. Crucially, he’s also adept and playing wider and some of his best and most productive football has came from the flanks.
“He also scores all types of goals and we hope he adds real firepower to the top end of the pitch.”
