We kick off our 2026/27 William Hill Premiership campaign this afternoon against Hibernian. 

Below is everything you need to know ahead of the action kicking off in Edinburgh at 4:30pm.

All tickets for this game are the Motherwell Digital tickets, there will be no physical tickets for this game. There will be no “Pay at the Gate” facility.

Turnstiles will be open from 3:30pm and turnstiles 5 and 6 will be open.

Travel

It should be noted that there are temporary bus route diversions in place avoiding sections of Princes Street, this route to the stadium will add 20-30 minutes onto your journey.

Easter Road, London Road, Leith Street and the Leith Walk area are expected to be congested with the usual matchday traffic.

Please note, the biggest change this season at Easter Road is we’re recommending a different exit and egress route for away supporters visiting Easter Road stadium.

This change in approach will save visiting fans 2minutes on walking back to supporter buses and Edinburgh Waverley train station in the city centre, rather than walking the previous traditional route over the Crawford Bridge and up Easter Road, plus avoiding potential supporter flashpoints.

• Turn left on Albion Road when exiting the South stand
• Turn right onto Lochend Butterfly Way
• Turn left and walk round the back of Meadowbank Retail Park
• Turn right onto Moray Park Terrace
• Continue onto London Road
• Turn right onto London Road
• Continue onto Montrose Terrace
• Walk towards Regent Road (Supporter Buses)/City Centre/Waverley Station

Parking

There is no available parking spaces for car within stadium boundary. There is plenty of on street parking for cars in the vicinity of Leith area away from the stadium.

Other Information

Easter Road is a cashless stadium. All kiosks at accept contactless/card payments only. No cash facility.

The Artisan Bar & Lounge (London Road) welcome away fans on matchdays the pub is a 10minutes walk from the away end.

The city centre is a 20 minute walk from the stadium and there are a number of bars and restaurants to choose from.

No bags over 30cm x 30cm. Flags/banners to be no bigger than 2m x 1m. Liquid passes for medical and welfare reasons only can be applied for via Hibs Ticket Office

The second matchday of the 2026/27 domestic campaign is upon us, and the women of steel will travel to face Livingston this weekend, as they contest the second round of the Sky Sports Cup group stage at Almondvale on Sunday.

Defender Jamie Knight-Lebel has joined the club on loan from English Championship side Bristol City.

“I want to welcome Jamie to the club,” Alfred Johansson said.

“He is a talented young player who has two very strong seasons out on loan playing regularly. A physical and strong defender, he will provide competition in the defensive positions and bring international experience.

“Bristol City rate him highly, and this loan move will provide him with the opportunity to play in a style suited to his game. We look forward to introducing Jamie to the squad, and I’m excited to be working with him.”

The 21-year-old Canadian international joined the Bristol City Academy in 2019 and has since gone on to represent the first-team.

He made his debut for the Robins in 2023 when he came off the bench against Cardiff City in the Championship. He went on to play a further two games for Bristol City in the 2023/24 season. During his rise in the academy system, he was named captain of the under-21 side.

After signing a new three-year deal with Bristol City ahead of the 24/25 season, Knight-Lebel joined Crewe on loan, where he played 38 games, scoring three goals, with Crewe boasting an impressive goals-conceded record for the season.

But that season also brought more success on an international level, with the defender earning his first call-up to the Canadian squad in October 2024. Having been named in a provisional squad for the Copa America Qualifying playoffs earlier in the year, Jesse Marsch handed him his debut for his country in November against Suriname.

He earned his second and third caps in the summer of 2025, rounding off an excellent 12 months of development. Looking to continue playing, Knight-Lebel joined Ian Holloway’s Swindon Town for the 25/26 season. Here he made 35 appearances across the campaign.

“I’m looking forward to this season,” Jamie Knight-Lebel stated.

“The boys have already secured a spot in the next round of Europe, and they all seem to have gelled quickly as a group. It seems like such a tight-knit group at the club, and that is something I’m looking forward to being a part of.

“It’s not long until the league season starts and the excitement is high. I’m looking forward to experiencing my first game with this club.”

First Leg

The first leg will take place away from on Thursday 6 August at the Bolt Arena in Helsinki. Kick off is 7pm Local Time (5pm UK Time).

The away section is located on the north side of the stadium in blocks 113 and 114. Block 113 is an 18+ section, fans in this section may be required to present some identification proving their age, and supporters seated there are permitted to bring alcoholic beverages purchased from the stadium kiosks into the stand. Block 114 has no age restriction but it is not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into the stand. 

Away Leg

The second leg will take place seven days later on Thursday 13 August at Fir Park. Kick off is 7:30pm.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 3 August at 10am. Season Ticket holders have until 4pm on Friday 7^th Aug to secure their own seat with discounted price.

The Steelmen travelled to the Faroe Islands with a two-goal advantage from the first leg, but knew the tie wasn’t over. With a place in the third qualifying round at stake, Alfred’s Johansson’s side wanted a stress-free night against European regulars Havnar Bóltfelag.

Over 100 Motherwell fans made the trip, and witness a professional Motherwell display with Lukas Fadinger, Regan Charles-Cook and Dylan Williams all scoring.

More goals could have been scored but securing the club’s first win inside 90 minutes in an away European match for 16 years, the MFC squad have started the 26/27 season on the right foot.

The club are pleased to confirm that planning permission has been granted for a brand-new two-storey training facility building and a new synthetic surface at Dalziel Park in Motherwell.

“This is a hugely exciting project for the football club,” Chief Executive Brian Caldwell said.

“As a board, we believe this project meets a need to further improve the club’s training facility that is of great benefit both to the club and to our local community.

“We have put a great deal of work into identifying the best long-term site for the club’s training facility. We engaged with a number of landowners, including North Lanarkshire Council, and considered a range of options to determine what was best not only for the club today but most importantly, for its long-term future.

“We believe Dalziel Park offers the best option; it is an ideal location and with the considerable investment already made by the club in recent years upgrading the three grass pitches to a Premiership standard, it makes financial sense to continue investing in this site.”

As well as utilising some of the proceeds from recent player sales to fund the project, the club has been successful in securing grant funding through the Scottish FA’s ‘Pitching In’ Fund and this further investment in the site will enhance our support for the wider community while also helping us work towards our longer-term strategic objectives as a football club.

Following the submission of extensive plans to North Lanarkshire Council in March, (all detailed reports and application process documents can be found on the North Lanarkshire Council website.) work can now begin on a brand-new two-storey building.

The building will include state-of-the-art changing rooms, a gym, a medical room, staff offices, an analysis suite, meeting rooms and a canteen.

The building will have areas accessible to all site users and will assist maximise the opportunities within the existing site and in addition to creating a productive and welcoming environment for users, a key objective of the building is to achieve a high standard of energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

The building will provide a high-quality training centre for our professional players and staff who will be based there daily rather than having to drive back and forward from Fir Park. In a highly competitive industry, we hope that by raising further the standards of our training ground this will help us attract and retain players and staff.

The plans also include the future installation of a new synthetic surface and LED floodlighting. This longer term objective of bringing more activity to Dalziel Park would allow greater use of the facility by our women, academy and community teams and also the wider community.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in this process,” Brian Caldwell added.

“In particular, the club would like to thank the Dalziel High School War Memorial Trust for assisting with this development and for supporting our longer-term vision for the facility. Their support has been instrumental in making this possible.

“We enter the next phase of development with excitement and a determination to ensure that this is just another positive step forward in our ongoing evolution as Scotland’s first top-flight fan-owned football club. The next stage of the project begins immediately, and we will keep everyone updated on progress.

“We also see the development of the training ground as very much a community effort. We would therefore encourage any supporters who feel they may be able to assist – whether through trade skills, the supply of materials, or any other support that could benefit the club – to get in touch fill in a short survey, outlining how they may be able to help.”

We can confirm we have submitted an appeal against the decision taken by a disciplinary tribunal of the Scottish FA to impose a £5,000 fine upon Motherwell FC.

This appeal is against the sanction imposed regarding a social media post the club made following our match against Celtic.

As this case remains open, we will not comment any further on the matter.

Regan Charles-Cook explains the differences in the way the team plays this season in comparison to last year, but believes the closeness of the group is something that hasn’t changed. 

Looking ahead to the season that awaits, Charles-Cook details how important pre-season could be for the Grenadian as he looks to make a big impact.

Motherwell Fortunes

The Steelmen come into this match after securing a UEFA Conference League win over HB on Thursday night. Lukas Fadinger will be looking to add to his two goals already this season, having scored in his last three competitive matches in all competitions.

Regan Charles-Cook got off the mark for the season, with Dylan Williams scoring and assisting on Thursday night also. Both Motherwell and Hibernian secured a spot in the next round of the Conference League, with these two sides last meeting on the last day of the 25/26 season.

The Steelmen were unbeaten at Easter Road last season, winning 1-0 on the final day and drawing 1-1 back in January.

Opposition Report

Hibernian have already experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in their competitive season. They faced Malisheva of Kosovo in the second qualifying round and having gone down 2-0 in the away leg, David Gray’s side overcame the two-goal deficit in impressive fashion to win 4-1 in the second leg and advance to the next stage.

The Hibees had four different scorers on the night including Martin Boyle, who also registered an assist.
