We have two players away on international duty later this month. 

Lennon Miller

After his maiden call-up in March, Lennon Miller is named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the June international matches. Motherwell academy graduate Max Johnston has also been included in the squad.

Scotland have two friendly matches lined up June, with Miller primed to make his first appearance for the senior international side. Clarke’s side take on Iceland at Hampden on Friday 6 June, before travelling to Liechtenstein on Monday 9 June.

Tawanda Maswanhise

Tawanda Maswanhise will make his way to Morocco later this month for Zimbabwe’s two fixtures. The Warriors have two friendly matches lined up in June in Morocco which will be used as preparation for their World Cup qualifying matches in September.

They take on Burkino Faso Friday 6 June and Niger on Tuesday 10 June.

Motherwell FC Community Trust are actively recruiting keen and enthusiastic players to join their adult or child PAN Disability sessions. 

Ever dreamt of playing under the Motherwell badge or taking to the pitch in the historic claret and amber colours?

Our PAN Disability adult and child community squads are all actively looking for new players to feature in their side.

Training sessions will take place at Fir Park Astro located behind the East Stand at Fir Park Stadium, two nights per week.

Wednesday: 

Adult – 1.00-2.00PM.

Sunday: 

Adult – 12.30-1.30PM.

Child – 12.30-1.30PM.

We will take on Carlisle in a behind-closed-door friendly match prior to our first Premier Sports Cup match. 

The match against Carlisle will take place on Tuesday 8 July at Fir Park.

No spectators will be able to attend.

The match will be covered on our social media platforms.

Defender Jordan McGhee is our latest summer recruit.

The former Dundee defender joins the club on a two-year deal, with the club holding the option of a further year.

McGhee joined the youth setup at Hearts in 2011 and worked his way through the ranks at the club. In 2013, he made his first-team debut against St Mirren at Tynecastle.

It didn’t take him long to get off the mark at first-team level, as McGhee scored in just his second appearance against Aberdeen in August 2013.

Interest in the defender was high, with McGhee receiving offers to move to England; however, he penned a new deal with the Jambos.

He moved on loan to Middlesborough in July 2016. After making 74 appearances for Hearts, he moved to Falkirk in the Championship in the summer of 2017. Over the next two seasons, he would accumulate over 70 appearances for the Bairns and would be named club captain.

Following Falkirk’s relegation in 2019, McGhee made the switch to Dundee. In his first season, he was voted Players’ Player of the Year, and at the end of the campaign, he would be named Club Captain for the second time in his career.

He scored three goals in Dundee’s Premiership playoff matches that played a huge part in the Dee’s return to the top flight. Over the course of the next four seasons, McGhee would be used as a utility player across the pitch. Despite Dundee being relegated again, he remained with the club and helped them back to the Premiership.

In his final season, he scored a brace against rivals Dundee United at Tannadice to help secure Dundee’s first win at Tannadice in over 20 years. In six seasons, he reached just shy of 200 appearances for Dundee, and now he joins the club for the 2025/26 season.

Taking inspiration from our kit 100 years ago, our new shirt features vertical stripes. These subtle claret pinstripes go vertically on the front of the top only.

Our famous claret band returns in the middle of the top, displaying our main front-of-shirt sponsor G4 Claims.

In other key details, the top is a buttoned collar, with white, claret and amber all present on collar and cuffs.

The shorts have similar detail present, with claret remaining the predominant colour.

This year’s socks are mostly amber, with MFC displayed in new claret font on the back. The top of socks display similar details to that of the the collar and cuffs for consistency.

Motherwell will face Hertha Berlin in a friendly at Fir Park on Friday 25 July. 

Kick off is 7pm.

The 2. Bundesliga side will travel to Scotland in preparation for their upcoming campaign in Germany. The two-time German Champions currently play in the second tier of Germany following their relegation from the Bundesliga in 2023.

Finishing in 11th place last season, their squad is littered with talent and we look forward to welcoming them to Fir Park. Ticket details for the match will be made available in due course.

We will kick off our 2025/26 Premier Sports Cup campaign with a Lanarkshire Derby against Clyde on Saturday 12 July, making the short journey to New Douglas Park.

Our first home game will take place on Tuesday 15 July against Peterhead at 7.45pm.

We then travel to Ochilview Park on Saturday 19 July to face Stenhousemuir.

Our group-stage campaign ends on Tuesday 22 July against Greenock Morton at Fir Park. Our group-stage finale will also be broadcast live on Premier Sports.

Over the last 12 months, Together Equality Achieves More (T.E.A.M) project has made a meaningful difference in the lives of 278 individuals, delivering vital support across 5 funded trusts and foundations in Scotland.

Working in partnership, Big Hearts Community Trust, Falkirk Foundation, Morton FC in the Community, Motherwell FC Community Trust and St Mirren Charitable Foundation are proud to demonstrate the extensive reach of the equalities work which has been tailored to children, young people and family requirements in each of our local communities.

Motherwell FC Community Trust has engaged with 71 young people offering opportunities for participation in football combined with wider life skills and integration.

Paul Wilson, Head of Operations at the Trust said: “The five clubs that have collaborated on this have each approached the theme from a different angle, yet all achieved the same outcome of providing more opportunities for young people to play football in a safe, welcoming setting.”

The UEFA Foundation for Children has once again selected T.E.A.M as one of 72 impactful projects to receive funding, Carine N’koué, General Secretary of the foundation, said:

“I am very pleased to announce that our board members have decided to support 72 projects through the Foundation in 2025. We all know how powerful sport and especially football can be. Those projects use that incredible power to impact the lives of countless children around the world for a better life.”
