Callum Slattery signed for Motherwell from Premier League outfit Southampton in 2021 on a three-year deal.
A graduate of the Saints’ youth academy, where he made three Premier League appearances, the midfielder has also played on loan with Gillingham and Dutch side De Graafschap.
Winning back-to-back goal of the season awards at Motherwell in 2021/22 and 2022/23, Slattery’s impressive control and skill on the ball meant he was well on his way to reaching 100 games for Motherwell.
After appearance 94, however, he would be made to wait for number 95, 369 days to be exact, due to a serious knee injury ruling the midfielder out for a long period of time.
During his spell on the sidelines, he signed a new deal keeping him at the club for a fourth season. He made his return to action against Aberdeen in January 2025 and scored his first goal since coming back a week later against Hibernian from a free kick.
The club then triggered the option to retain Slattery for the 25/26 season, his fifth in Motherwell colours. His surge back to full fitness was in full swing for the final months of the 24/25 season, as Slattery scored six goals in the 16 games.
