Former St Johnstone Club Captain Liam Gordon joined the club just before their 2024 pre-season trip to the Netherlands. A mainstay for the Perth side over the last five seasons, 28-year-old centre back Gordon lifted both the League Cup and Scottish Cup during his stay at McDiarmid Park.

A leader full of experience and passion, Gordon’s commanding stature fits Stuart Kettlewell’s philosophy of no-nonsense defending and demands. With over 200 games played for St Johnstone, he slotted in nicely to the Motherwell backline for the 2024/25 season.

Adoring the armband on a number of occasions due to injuries within the squad, Gordon showed his leadership and consistency throughout his first season in North Lanarkshire.
