Andy Halliday joined on an initial loan deal from Hearts in January 2024, before he became a permanent signing in the summer.
Featuring for Hearts, Livingston, Middlesbrough, Rangers, Bradford, Walsall and Blackpool, Halliday had played over 400 professional games of football in his career prior to his arrival at Fir Park. With the ability to play in numerous positions on the pitch, he adds experience and quality to the side.
Powering towards 500 appearances in his career, he would play regularly for Motherwell during the 24/25 season, scoring at Hampden against Rangers. He would even wear the captain’s armband, due to Paul McGinn, Stephen O’Donnell, Lennon Miller and Liam Gordon all being unavailable.
By the end of the 24/25 season, he had played in all 46 competitive matches and was only introduced as a substitute in four of those matches. His consistency and relentlessness meant he was voted the Players’ Player of the Year for 24/25, as he looks towards his second full season in claret and amber.
