Motherwell travel to face local rivals Hamilton tomorrow afternoon in one of the biggest Lanarkshire derbies in recent years.
With goal difference the only thing separating Hamilton in tenth from the ‘Well in eleventh, all eyes will be on Saturday’s crunch match at the SuperSeal Stadium.
Fir Park gaffer Stephen Robinson will have to field a side without the experience of Stephen McManus and the consistency of Richard Tait as his side fight for their Premiership survival.
The stakes have perhaps never been higher for the club, with the ‘Well boss hailing tomorrow’s derby match as bigger than the memorable play-off clash with Rangers back in 2015 because the Steelmen are “still in control of their destiny”.
The two sides meet this Saturday for the biggest Lanarkshire Derby of the season level on points and with Premiership survival in the balance.
The Fir Park gaffer said: “We won’t dress it up, just like we haven’t done in the last run-in of games because it’s a big, big game.
“Some people are saying it’s much bigger than the Rangers play-off game and it is because we’re still in control of our own destiny.”
He added: “We’re under no illusions how big the game is and how positively a result can set us up for the Tuesday night game.”

Louis Moult is keen to add to his goal scoring tally against Hamilton as the Steelmen take on their local rivals this weekend.
The Englishman scored a historic quadruple against the Accies earlier this season and has his sights set on another memorable day tomorrow afternoon.
The ‘Well striker insisted that it is not just his game he is worried about, admitting that the whole squad is keen to put things right and take one step towards Premiership survival.
Speaking to the broadcast press this morning, Moult looked ahead to Saturday’s game.
[pullquote]I think most of the boys would feel the same – we want to get out there and put it right, that’s the general feeling.[/pullquote]
He said: “After Saturday I just wanted to play again immediately on the Tuesday, and I think most of the boys would feel the same – we want to get out there and put it right, that’s the general feeling.
“I try and treat every game like every game, but I’m aware that I’ve scored some goals against them this season and last so hopefully I can add to that on Saturday.”
He added: “First and foremost we need to win the game, simple as that, it’s a massive game on Saturday and every game is now until the end of the season.”

Since Hamilton’s promotion to the top flight in the 2008/09 season, the rivalry with Motherwell has intensified – with tomorrow’s hosts recording 35 wins in 123 league clashes.
For Martin Canning and assistant Guillaume Beuzelin, tomorrow’s game is the biggest of their 2016/17 campaign.
Recent derby clashes between the two sides have not been short of goals or drama, with the outing at Fir Park back in September arguably one of the most memorable clashes between the two clubs in recent years.
On that day, a 4-2 victory for the ‘Well, thanks to four goals from Louis Moult, secured three points for the Steelmen and took it’s place in the history books thanks to the forwards outstanding exploits.
Their first visit as coaches ended with the Steelmen notching a 4-0 victory in front of a jubilant home support.
However, the next time the duo came to the home of the Steelmen, the outcome ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
The club have been involved in some hugely positive results on their own patch though, with few ‘Well supporters needing a reminder of the 5-0 loss against Accies back on New Year’s day 2015.
And while goals have been something to expect in recent derby clashes, the last time the two sides met they ripped up the script and played out a goalless draw at Fir Park.
It means that Accies are still searching for their first win over Motherwell this season, but will no doubt give them huge motivation this weekend.
They will be eager to put an end to their current losing streak too, having suffered two defeats on the bounce in the shape of a 2-1 loss away to Inverness and a 2-0 defeat against Kilmarnock in the opening game of the split.
Top scorers Ali Crawford and Alex D’Acol will undoubtedly be ones to watch for the hosts tomorrow afternoon – with the duo bagging seven goals apiece so far this season.
