Harry Paton was, oddly enough, Stuart Kettlewell’s first Motherwell signing in March 2023.

Paton was more than familiar with the gaffer’s philosophy from their time together in the highlands with Ross County.

Small in stature with a low centre of gravity, Paton is known for his ball carrying ability and netted his first goal for the club against Kilmarnock with the last kick of the ball in August 2023.

Part of the 2021 CONCAF Gold Cup Canadian side, Paton was set to earn his first Canadian cap, however was robbed of this by a Covid-19 diagnosis upon arrival to the camp.

However, his consistent and high octane performances earned him a spot back in the Canadian setup in October 2023, where he went on to make his debut for his country in a friendly match against Japan as a second half substitute.
