After clocking up nearly four million views online, Peter Hartley’s signed shirt and piano from the popular #Pete6 social media campaign are being auctioned off for a local charity.
Following Hartley’s agreement to pen a permanent contract at Fir Park, the media team took inspiration from Manchester United’s video to announce the signing of Alexis Sanchez by creating a parody. That video has appeared on Sky Sports News, BBC Breakfast and many more.
You can bid on the piano and shirt on eBay.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards aiding Reeltime Music, a charity aiming to provide a range of quality services for disenfranchised young people and the local community in North Lanarkshire. They do this through the provision of affordable recording and rehearsal services, workshop and training provision, volunteering and partnership projects.
By providing an informal service, music is a great way to break down barriers, learn new skills, increase aspirations and develop a more active lifestyle. By promoting an environment where young people can work with friendly, knowledgeable, trained staff to learn about things they want to learn, young people can learn about the value of creativity, growth and participation.
We want to use the popularity of #Pete6 to do something for our local community. Our special “Pete” shirt used in the video, and the miniature piano used, are being auctioned off for the local North Lanarkshire charity Reeltime Music. The shirt is signed by Peter Hartley.
All money raised, minus fees, will go to the charity.
Please note the piano has a small crack down the back but is otherwise in good condition. Well, Peter Hartley did smash it on the ground…
