After an incredibly successful six month loan spell in ML1 from Queen’s Park Rangers in 2021, Liam Kelly made the switch permanent in July 2021.

He would go on to win the player’s player of the year and player of the year in the 2021/22 season whilst also earning a regular spot back in the Scotland squads.

Having been named consistently in Steve Clarke’s setup, the eventual Motherwell skipper got his first cap in October 2023 against France in Paris. The shot stopper played 45 minutes, where he almost saved a Kylian Mbappe penalty.

Kelly was named in the starting lineup in 112 consecutive games, where he wouldn’t miss a minute in over two-and-a-half years at the club, before he named as a substitute in July 2023 against Queen of the South.
